In case you weren’t paying attention (or not home), there was a big storm yesterday afternoon. It hung out over NYC and JC for quite a while. Every time you thought it was over, the thunder and lightning would amp back up. There was even quarter-sized hail that pummeled the streets (not to mention the cars and any unfortunate pedestrians). I thought it was an odd storm, but didn’t realize how wild it was until I saw this picture. It was posted via Twitter and Instagram by former-NFL player Dhani Jones, who was on a plane circling La Guardia Airport. He tweeted, “#stormcoming #nyc #isolated I’ve never seen a storm so concentrated. The power of mother nature!”
I found out today that there were trees and power lines down all over the area. Third Street was even closed between Jersey and Coles to everyone, even residents, for a number of hours last night, as a live power line was on the ground.
