Sandbags Are In

Jersey City residents…the city announced that 14,000 sandbags and sand are available for pick-up. You can grab them on Sunday from 10am – 4pm at two locations — the Municipal Lot at Montgomery and Orchard and at P.S. 40 at Ocean and Gates. The city is asking that residents bring their own shovels to fill the sandbags they want to take. Sandbags should only be filled halfway and then folded over (read the Army Corps of Engineers guide to sandbags here).

Also, the city has posted the flood zone map online again. Click here to see if you are in a flood zone. Remember to move your car if you are in a low-lying area.
